Internal Project priority...or lack there of

by ktemplien 10. November 2009 17:15

So it is now done!!! The new www.x-eqt.com is published, three full months after it was moved up to staging.  We have been busy with the CRM systems, Networks, websites, and Financial systems for others.  It is very important to me, my team, and most importantly, our clients to deliver their systems on time.  Sometimes to the detriment of our internal systems.  We “sell” the fact that every day that our clients do not move forward on a new solution they are leaving money on the table in lost efficiencies, and in many cases real money.

So why are our own internal systems not as important????

If you can answer that for me, hit me up.

It will be a busy end of 2009 and 2010 will also be kickin as we need to upgrade our own desktop systems and accounting system as well as keep up with the changes in the systems our clients are running plus a couple new clients (I hope).

I am better served working a bit harder and letting my systems fall  back rather than letting my clients down.

If your projects are not getting done as you need them, let X-eqt bring our commitment to your firm.

Aches and pains

by ktemplien 20. October 2009 05:25
Have you ever run into a client that you feel you can help really make a difference, but fear they won't move forward? (loss to no decision)
I met a new prospect yesterday that wanted to chat with me regarding a website makeover...Oh my is there an opportunity here.
They currently have a very dated website with broken links everywhere and no Internet/IT strategy.  Other issues such as making due with programs that don't fit their business, shoestring IT budget and they are overwhelmed with work, I didn't say business, I said work. BIG Difference.
I have always felt that my firm will do the best job for a company and it pains me to not get picked to help them.  If I loose an opportunity, I have let the customer down.  I feel this way because I didn't do a good enough job "selling" my firm, and the customer is not able to benefit from the great job we will do.  I know it sounds a little egotistical, but it is how I feel, And this is MY BLOG.

I guess my feeling this way assures that I do the absolute best I can from first meeting to every engagement. What do you think?  Am I a little to "emotional"?  Do you want someone as your trusted business partner who is sooooo engaged?  (I said engaged like business commitment, not stocking you and your employees)More to come…I hope,Kent

Short week but just as much to get done

by ktemplien 11. September 2009 16:25

Does everyone have the same challenge as I, although it was a short (4 day) work week, it seemed like I still needed to accomplish the same amount of work as a normal week.  The only solution is to utilize the tools we have to our greatest advantage.  Now our greatest challenge, to find the most comprehensive and effective tools.  It all begins with critically evaluating our processes and the requirements.  Then the area of my personal expertise, imagination.  Building the vision of how it could be and how it will work, putting it together on paper. and estimating the investment and let's not forget, the Return on that Investment.  I recently asked a prospect what they expected that their CRM would do for them and how would it pay for itself.  The principals looked at me with wide eyes and said we really didn't think about the CRM providing a return on investment.  Then Why do it? but i digress.   What tools do you need?  Call me so we can help you get more done with the right tools.

Proof of Concept

by ktemplien 12. August 2009 11:20
I had the opportunity to work with 2 new companies this week that had the same challenges and are just like many of the folks I see out here-Manual processes that are causing them pains!!They have the equivalent of sneaker net, entering data into excel spreadsheets only to print it out (email it) for another user to enter it into another system and so on...I was thinking, this is not a bad thing, people use Excel as a database, spreadsheet, presentation system, word processor but above all a proof of concept tool.We can make repeatable processes much more efficient by workflow and  automation, but I am challenged to make a system do one thing when a full moon and another when it is 90 degrees outside and excel, or a good proof of concept helps us flesh this out.Now back to work, and give me a call if you need help moving from POC to a integrated solution- enter data once but consume it everywhere needed.

New Website

by ktemplien 4. August 2009 06:24

After over 2 years the cobbler's kids are getting new shoes....yes that's right, the X-eqt team has a new website on staging.  I have gotten a lot of ...what do you do? and our site was the original site that I put up when we started.  The best part of this exercise was all the positive testimonials that we received from our clients to be published.  Many were unsolicited, but we asked for their approval to be published.  What is success for X-eqt?  Clients that are our best advocates. Now that's our vision.  What is yours?

Look for our new look and feel in the next week or so. Kent
